Abira created this fully functioning muppet style puppet in 2014 under the tutelage of ‘puppet smith’ Katherine Hannaford. Abira based this puppet on her pet dog Baloo (a black labradoodle) – you can just make out the real Baloo sitting on the piece of fabric Abira is working on below!  This was Abira’s 2nd muppet she has crafted, and a lot more functional then her first!

The pattern for the puppet is from Jim Henson’s original muppet patterns. The project took many, many hours to fully complete all the inner workings, and Baloo’s brain was the last piece to be inserted for completion.
